Martuni Art Gallery
In 1978, the Martunu Gallery was opened, which is a branch of the National Gallery. The museum exhibits 1960-1980s. Armenian fine art, which continued the path formed in the previous decades, with communist ideological messages, under the motto "national in form, socialist in content".
The collection is distinguished by the fact that the majority of the works were commissioned by the state for the republican exhibitions organized in the House of Artists, after which they were kept in the funds of the traveling studio. The theme of the exhibitions was diverse. they echoed the annual celebrations of the October Revolution, the anniversaries of the victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War, as well as the construction of the country, sports, work, study, the eternal theme - motherhood, etc.
Busts and thematic works of famous sculptors N. Nikoghosyan, T. Mirzoyan, R. Kyurkchyan, R. Badalyan, S. Mehrabyan are shown in the museum as weel.
